Flashing Bond Market Signal
As the calendar turns to June, many thought the high rates would be long gone by now. However, our regression analysis shows that after a brief dip in the spring, we are now over or near +2 standard deviations on each key UST tenor over a ten-year timeframe (link below this article in the email). We interpret this as a flashing buy signal due to the statistical probability that rates will eventually revert to their respective mean. Adding duration at a time like this could pay dividends for years to come.Country Club Bank owns and offers two longer blocks of Bank Qualified municipal bonds that came to market in May to help capitalize on this opportunity. Both feature good lockout with an 8 year first call date (2031) and high coupons, which juices yield assuming amortization of premium to the call date. They are also unlimited general obligations of their respective issuers.
