How Are You Tracking Deposit Fluctuations?

I attended the BNControl user group meeting in Nashville, Tennessee on March 13th and 14th. Photos of the event are below.

One of the top topics discussed was tracking deposit fluctuations and having a proactive approach to identifying from which accounts and relationships the money was flowing and strategies to retain those deposits in our community banks.

This is how one BNControl user is tracking deposit fluctuations….
  • On a daily basis, fluctuations in deposits are identified in 3 categories:
                    > $250,000
                    $100,000-$250,000
                    < $100,000
  • This is broken down for the bank as a whole, plus 4 separate regions.
Each region can access a detailed report of individual or business customers and the change in their deposit balances comparing any two dates. Contact information for each customer is also available through BNControl.

This detail is then used by the regional staff to reach out to those customers.  The call is a service call to offer services or simply check in.  However, during the conversation, the reason why there has been a change in the deposit relationship that has occurred is revealed.

The data is instantly available without time and effort by bank staff and is readily available through BNControl each day.

This is just one example of how BNControl brings clarity to data and efficiently helps community banks face today’s challenges.
