Before we offer advice as we do in our Portfolio Managers Report (PMR), we would like to offer a sincere THANK YOU for allowing us an opportunity to share our ideas with you each week.  We hope that over the years you have been able to incorporate some of our thoughts and advice in to your portfolio.  We hope you have a great holiday season with your friends and loved ones. 

As for some last-minute advice before year-end…Here you go. 

When the curve is inverted, extending is difficult to do as we often have to accept a little less yield.  However, we believe it is the right thing to do.  We recently preferred extension with shorter amortizing Agency MBS or Bullet Alternative CMBS pools which you will find below. Lately we have also had inquiries on Agency Callables with good call protection, so we did a little digging and here is what we found:
